aurora, aliform, almondine

i am still full of sleep and have one foot in the sticky world of dreams; you were there, last night, vivid, your hair falling in your face, moon beams falling into the room, bare knees. spell broken by the alarm clock. morning creaks & falls into the room. my sleeping patterns are all shook up.
classes ended today. i handed in my last two papers, ate a madeleine in place madeleine, had absinthe from a proper abstinthe bar, burning the sugar & everything, & then went to a wine & cheese party at shanna's. things are really good. walking home tonight, i looked up at the blinded stars & thought about the milky way & writing stars in peggy's cove, & then about the clear skies of copenhagen & oslo that i will be seeing in a few weeks. i really hope that i will get to see the northern lights.

dearest harriet,
i'm so glad you & the fur hat decided to go north!
i'm well bundled in kingston - except all i can see of outside is spruce needles of trees and snow of everything else. mostly i stay inside looking through old family photographs and making gifts; my sister & i have been going on regular 'stomps' (walks with four feet of ours and two feet of snow).
stay well & wear your mittens!
