once there lived a boy

this is one of those days where it's not a restoration, but a reminder, of the grandness of humanity. the confidence i place in people is not naive: people are good people.
here are some important things, i guess: the kitchen smells like this - michelle made 150 cupcakes with buttercream icing. i am reading faulker. it is snowing. "i'm behind on readings," i said, "because i don't believe in the institution of learning." long-distance calls to montreal to talk to my favourite swede; oatmeal in the mornings. planning art parties. getting published! oh, yeah, getting published. in one british online magazine founded by ezra pound, and in a book of poetry and short fiction by an editor based in paris. chocolate chip pancakes, peanut butter squash, confessions. real live paper boats.
