feeling: self-sufficient; be nice to your senses
i spent the first of december obambulating around montmartre, allowing time to slip through my jam-fingers: all of my clocks are claiming a different time (extensions of me are lollygagging in halifax, napping in toronto, or leftover in london). i am evolving beyond the necessity of sleep, but you can see it in my eyes.
today was all early afternoon, old women giggling, polaroid extravagance, chocolate shops with orangettes, correct change, empty like a waiting cup next to a kettle. i ran into an acquaintance that immediately became a friend; bought wrapping paper not for wrapping anything but for turning into paper airplanes & doves. puttering over puh ehr tea & pancakes at the rose bakery, propping myself at the copper bar in les deux moulins, the world was glowing here. it was "huitre samedi" at deux moulins, people supped delicately from the luminous, gnarled shells while my cafe au lait got cold for distraction.
