morning food: with honey & cinnamon
my cyclamen is wilting; its purpling blooms tumbled into my slippers in the night. before putting my feet into them, i pick out the soft, wrinkly petals. that must mean good luck, somewhere.
last night i cooked dinner for six on two little hotplates. pesto pasta with onions, zucchini, artichoke hearts & chevre. it was a dinner party avec les voisins to thank them for letting me use their internet: j. made cake, f. brought supplementary wine, & i. said that he eats pasta every day before he got clubbed over the head.
after the new beaujolais of the season had lubricated our vocal chords, we began talking about lovers, love, & l'amour - la difference entre les trois. i have concluded that seduction is more sincere in europe.
